Urmi Saha born in Kishoreganj district on 01 June, 1991. She completed B.Sc. in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Tangail and M.S in Biotechnology from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh. Then she started to work as a Researcher in Stress Tolerant Rice for Africa and South Asia (STRASA) project, funded by Bill and Milinda Gates Foundation and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) at Plant Breeding Division of Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA), Mymensingh from January 2016. Then she admitted in Ph.D. program at department of Biotechnology in Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. She is one of the Co-founders of Mymensingh Welfare School. For such remarkable contribution to their community, Urmi Saha achieved Xtra ordinary Medal-2019 from Central Health Ministry, India. She also received EMK Small Grant-2020 and EMK Small Grant-2023 for vocational lab concept.
